The CPLC Chief

Mr. M. Zubair Habib was appointed Chief of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Sindh on July 31st 2015, by the Honorable Governor of Sindh, Dr.Ishratul Ebad Khan and subsequently endorsed by the CPLC’s Advisory Board on October 2nd 2015. Mr. Habib is one of the founding members of CPLC Sindh. His association with CPLC goes back to its 1989 inception. He was the first District Chief for CPLC ZRC West from 1993-2007 and later on headed the Charged Parking Project, a shared venture of CPLC and KMC. He was also appointed by CPLC as Chief CPLC ZRC Malir District, Chief CPLC ZRC East District and Chief CPLC ZRC South District before he was given charge of Deputy Chief CPLC Central Reporting Cell In 2015. As a member of the CPLC Central Committee, he has been able to contribute to the progress of the CPLC for the past 3 decades.

In 2006, the Government of Pakistan conferred the award of “Tamgha e Imtiaz” to Mr. Zubair Habib.

Mr. Zubair Habib’s sense of civic duty is not just limited to CPLC Sindh. In 2010, he became a founding member and trustee of Aitmaad Pakistan Trust, an organization formed to provide relief and rehabilitation to flood victims. He served as Chairman (CMC) for a technical/vocational training center established with the collaboration of the Government of Sindh (1992-2005) and remains a serving member of the Skill Development Council of Sindh. He was a member of the SESSI governing body (Karachi, 1990-1996) and a member of the Sindh Workers Welfare Board (Karachi, 1992-1994).

Citizens Police Liaison Committee, Sindh (CPLC) is a non-political statutory organization. It is a unique example of public-private partnership whereby citizens have come forward as volunteers and took charge to rectify the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh and have worked untiringly to achieve its righteous objectives – in coordination with relevant law enforcement agencies. CPLC strives to monitor and prevent crimes, protect lives & property, uphold the rule of law and ensure continuous improvement in its services. This organization has worked tremendously during the last 34 years of its existence to provide relief to victims of crimes and provides technical support to law enforcement agencies. CPLC is composed of eminent citizens, former members of the judiciary, former member of the Armed Forces, retired civil servants, industrialists / Chamber of Commerce members, journalists, women and minorities.
