WAFAQI MOHTASIB (OMBUDSMAN) OF PAKISTAN VISITED CPLC-CRC

Syed Tahir Shahbaz, Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) of Pakistan along with high ranking delegates of Wafaqi Mohtasib visited CPLC – Central Reporting Cell on 11th July, 2019. Mr. Zubair Habib, Chief CPLC Sindh and senior members of Central Committee of CPLC were also present to welcome them.

Chief CPLC Sindh gave a detailed presentation on the working of CPLC, crime situation in city, especially street crime, vehicle thefts, kidnapping for ransom, etc.

The Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) of Pakistan took a round of the CPLC Office and visited various sections established at CPLC – CRC. He also witness CPLC 24/7 Call Centre which receives more than 4,500 calls daily. He appreciated the performance of Call Center. The honourable Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan also look into the FIRs databank having more than 1 million records from 1987 to date which is benefiting LEAs. He also observed the vehicle data bank providing 24 hours information to all concerned. He also appreciated the Prison Information Management System of CPLC having records of jail inmates for immediate tracking he was also shown data bank of cell phones snatched/ stolen from Karachi and other parts of Pakistan.

The Wafaqi Mohtasib of Pakistan expressed that CPLC should be strengthened and expanded at Regional level in Sindh. In his remarks, he said that organizations like CPLC are unique. He was impressed with the working of CPLC, methods and modern techniques that CPLC applies to combat and detect crime. In end of the meeting shields were presented by Chief CPLC Sindh Mr. Zubair Habib and thanked him and the delegates for visiting CPLC Sindh.
