Karachi, Jan 31, 2019: The Ambassador of Norway H.E Mr. Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen along with Ms. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and First Secretary Jorn Wichne Pedersen visited CPLC – CRC today where they were greeted by Chief CPLC, Dy. Chief CPLC-CRC and Zonal Chief.
A presentation was given by Chief CPLC Mr. Zubair Habib on CPLC Sindh and briefed about the inception of CPLC, its functions, core values, infrastructure and success stories in the last 28 years. The team was also taken to the Police Complaint Cell at CRC, Complaint Handling Department, IT Cell, Sketching unit and Call Centre.
The Ambassador appreciated the efforts of Citizen- Police Liaison Committee’s (CPLC) which are palpable from the declining trend in heinous crimes in the city, he expressed these views during his visit to the CPLC Central Reporting Cell at the Governor House, along with Ms. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Mr. Jorn Wichne Pedersen.
The Ambassador showed special interest in CPLC’s Neighborhood Care Projects, CPLC Public School at three different downtrodden areas of Karachi, CPLC Shanakth project in which CPLC helps citizens to find their missing loved ones, constructions and operations of public toilets and free dispensaries.
Chief CPLC Sindh Mr. Zubair Habib presented a shield to the Norwegian Ambassador H.E Mr. Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen, Ms. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Mr. Jorn Wichne Pedersen and thanked them for visiting CPLC Central Reporting Cell. The ambassador appreciated the role of CPLC and was optimistic in working closely for capacity building of CPLC team for combating crimes in the province.
