Karachi. March 12: The Chief of York Regional Police Canada Eric Jolliffe along with Diversity Officer Sergeant Paul Chiang visited CPLC – CRC today where they were greeted by Chief CPLC Mr. Zubair Habib along with CPLC team. Mr. Mushtaq Mahar, Additional Inspector General of Police was also present at the occasion.
Responding to the brief on CPLC, they lauded the activities of the CPLC in creating a link between the law enforcement agencies and the citizens to beat crime effectively in the sprawling city of Karachi. The visitors also appreciated the efforts of Karachi Police during last few years in improving the law and order situation in the metropolis,Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Mushtaq Mehr also briefed about the efforts undertaken by Karachi police for restoring law and order.
Both Officers appreciated the success of neighborhood care projects initiated by CPLC in different parts of the city, where local residents along with CPLC attempt to ensure security/ policing of the area in close liaison with Police / Rangers that has resulted in drastic reduction in heinous and street crimes. The continuity of the CPLC services with devotion was simply remarkable, they added.
Another project which attracted their attention was the welfare projects which include CPLC’s efforts to provide relief to masses living in downtrodden areas of Karachi by launching purely Welfare based schools in three different areas of Karachi where more than 1,150 students are provided free Education, Books, Uniforms etc.These schools have secured more than 90 percent result in SSC (Matriculation) examination in the last 3 years.
Chief CPLC Sindh Mr.Zubair Habib presented a shield to the distinguished guests and thanked them for visiting CPLC’s Central Reporting Cell. Both Officers appreciated the role of CPLC and were optimistic in working closely for capacity building of CPLC and Police to ensure better living of masses.
