The Assistant Director of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Government of Australia Ms. Kate Macklin along with Head of Domestic Political and Human Rights, Second Secretary of Consul of Australia Mr. Hugh Boylan visited CPLC – CRC today where they were greeted by Chief CPLC Mr. Zubair Habib.
Responding to the brief on CPLC given to them by Mr. Zubair Habib, Chief of Sindh CPLC, they lauded the activities of the CPLC in creating a bridge between the law enforcing agencies and the citizens to beat crime effectively and offer their support in improving the services of the CPLC in the sprawling city of Karachi.
Both the diplomats spoke very highly about the successful launching of neighborhood care projects by CPLC, in which local residents along with CPLC attempt to ensure area security / policing in close liaison with Police/Rangers that has resulted in drastic reduction in heinous and street crimes. The continuity of the CPLC services with devotion was simply remarkable, they added.
Another project which received their attention was welfare projects which include CPLC’s efforts to provide relief to masses living in downtrodden areas of Karachi by launching purely Welfare based schools in 3 areas of Karachi where more than 1,150 students are provided free education, Books, Uniform etc and these schools have secured more than 90 per cent result in SSC examination (Matriculation) in the last 3 years.
Chief CPLC Sindh Mr. Zubair Habib presented a shield to Ms. Kate Macklin and thanked her for visiting CPLC’s Central Reporting Cell. The Assistant Director of DFAT appreciated the role of CPLC and was optimistic in working closely for capacity building of CPLC team for different projects to ensure better living of masses.
